You deserve a representative that will support your ideas, fight for the needs of your community and earn your respect all while upholding the U.S. and Iowa Constitution’s. You deserve someone who truly cares for your community, look no further.
As written in Genesis 1:26, “So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.”
Without any doubt I believe that life starts at conception and that “For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother's womb.“ Psalm 139:13. The Lord has a plan for each and every one of us and protecting the unborn isn’t an issue I take lightly. I will work and fight to protect those that can’t protect themselves.
“Many Americans have lost sight of our founding principles in the fog and confusion of modern politics. We argue about gun policy, but we don’t consider the source of individual rights. We contend with each other over the proper levels of government spending, but we don’t stop to consider the nature of individual rights. We fight for our own communities and group identities, to the detriment of individual rights. We allow the will of the people to be subjugated to the will of unelected bureaucrats. Instead of questioning the basis for the modern administrative state, we argue over who will receive the benefits within its power to dispense. In times such as these, we might ask ourselves where we can turn for guidance.” It’s time to demand elected officials defend Iowan’s rights and I am proud that as the chair of the Hardin County Board of Supervisor’s that Hardin County was the second Iowa County to be a Second Amendment Sanctuary County.
I know the value of being connected. That's why I am running for Iowa House. From my work as the Chairman of Central Iowa Community Services (regional mental health board) to being the treasurer of the Northeast Iowa Response Group I built relationships to serve my constituency and will continue to cultivate relationships in House District 54 and beyond.
When I hear that Iowans demand better educational opportunities and learning experiences for our future leaders I couldn’t agree more. My constituents have my word that I will put parents in control of their children’s education by working with school boards to make sure that we are teaching our kids how to think, not what to think. It’s paramount to believe that I will give parent’s choice as to how their children’s most informative years will be spent and where. Lastly, I will fight for accountability in the classroom by working to find solutions that have rewards for excellence in the classroom and consequences when rules are blatantly ignored or circumvented.
Since January 2021 Iowans have witnessed record inflation rates, workforce issues, and the printing of money at the federal level at rates never witnessed in my lifetime. The value of an Iowa’s dollar has shrunk and there’s no sign of recovery.
Ultimately working with legislative leadership to ELIMINATE the State income tax has to be a short term goal and this single action would be a catalyst for growth and in many cases regenerate lost growth in rural Iowa.
We must find a means to end the abuse of public assistance programs that create undue burden on Iowans. I know that Iowans want to see taxpayer lobbyist funding transparency . Next, I want to work to bring regulatory reform in the form of House File 254. We need to rescind regulations when new regulations are put in place and I’d look forward to working across party lines to achieve this goal.
The importance of continuing tax reform is critical while the Build Better Back has a potential to rain down significant financial burden across the spectrum for Iowans.
Like healthcare, construction, hospitality, and every other industry there will always be bad eggs but Iowa farmers and ranchers need our support more than ever to be able to compete and succeed in the international market but more importantly the domestic market. It’s time that we quit talking and truly commit to the men and women that feed the world. Our cattlemen our being destroyed by the monopolistic practices in the cattle industry. We need to look at adding value to our renewable fuels industry and bring low cost fuel sources to the market so our local producers have a outlet to market their commodities to year round and coast to coast. Lastly, we need to make sure that the infrastructure is in place to make sure all producers have access to further precision agriculture and secure their operations for generations to come.
It’s time to trust someone that listens better than they talk. Iowan’s want their elected officials to find solutions to problems rather than go round and round about social issues that distract us from being fiscally responsible, environmentally conscious, family focused, agriculturally aware, and mindful to the needs of others without losing sight of principles and values.
